Become a Volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering at the shelter, we welcome you stop by! Not all the jobs are easy or glamorous, but they are necessary. If you can donate any of your time, we'll be glad to put you to important work. Your efforts will make the shelter a better place for the pets, and you'll be contributing to a worthwhile community cause.

We have many opportunities for volunteering, including:

• Walking Dogs • Watering Animals
• Socializing Cats • Light Duty Cleaning
• Bathing/Brushing Animals • Assisting Staff
• Helping with Laundry/Dishes  

 

Volunteers must be over the age of 16. Children under 16 may volunteer, but must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Volunteer can work during shelter hours, should wear appropriate clothing, and are expected to follow instructions from AWL employees.
