SPECIAL NEEDS WISH LIST....
Some Very Special help and items we could use:
Thank you in advance for your generosity, help and kindness to these animals who cannot fend for themselves!
1)We are in need of someone that can teach CPR to our staff. If anyone can provide this training free of charge it would be greatly appreciated!!
2) We are in need of some lare floor cages and large carry kennels or parts from used or discarded kennels or cages to fix the ones we have.
3) New or gently used propane barbeque grill (we need this for fundraisers).
4) New or gently used working riding lawn mower.
5) Need free or discount plumbing work for a large project we are undertaking..please call or come out and give us an estimate!
6) Need an electrician to give us an estimate on running 220 for the same project, free or discounted please.
7) Our van was purchased (used) last year. It is a specialty van for transporting animals. It needs body work (which could be welded metal) on lower rocker panels to make it look like new and to prevent additional rusting and corrosion. It should be stored in a carport or garage and we have neither. If you could provide the body work to help save the van from deterioration...we would be grateful. OR if you know of someone who does good work that would give us a good discount we might be able to raise funds with a special event to pay for it!
Please contact director, Darla McCammon at 574-267-3008 (or email officeawl@kconline.com) if you can help with this van. We have someone willing to do a beautiful design on this van, but we don't wish to begin that great donation until we have a decent looking van for this person to work with!
8) Dedicated volunteers willing to help 3-4 hours per week every week. No lifting or overly physical work involved. Call and ask for Trudy (volunteer coordinator) at 267-3008. You will meet other volunteers and make new friends. Our volunteers are wonderful people and this "club" is growing!
9) Donation of your time doing clerical and data entry skills for filing, typing, assisting with office work.
10) We could use a generator for power outages to help the animals.
11) We could use a fifteen foot long aluminum step ladder. High ceilings and light fixtures are hard to reach on a wobbly old wooden one.
12) Need someone willing to fill in cracks and spackle lobby wall in front office. Area to be covered and finished and repainted is about 8 ft tall by 12 ft wide. (just one wall). You will be working over old paneling that needs the lines and holes from shelving filled.
13) Need a concrete mason to finish off a cement floor for two outdoor "drop off" kennels. We have a donor willing to purchase the concrete, but we need a mason to professionally create the forms and finish it off when poured.
14) Need some strong shovelers to go around our big dog play yard and fill in holes so "escape artist" dogs can't dig their way out when playing.
You cannot know how much and how deeply we appreciate your generosity during these dark economic days....thank you.
